I don't know what settings I got into, but now when I start Windows, just before the Lenovo logo is displayed, the screen should be black but instead has a wispy, sort of ghostly red border around the outside of the display. My continued keystrokes for the next second or so caused some changes to the display.
My hand must have brushed across the touchpad, causing cursor to go somewhere I wasn't expecting.
